About Ottawa's StartUp Garage

The Startup Garage is an initiative of the Ottawa Technology Transfer Network (OTTN) to foster and support student entrepreneurship in the Ottawa area.

The program offers student lead ventures the opportunity to accelerate their business by working full time over the course of three months during the summer. StartUp Garage provides each participant company with three essential ingredients: cash, space and support.  In operation at the University of Ottawa's Technology Transfer & Business Enterprise Since 2010 StartupGarage has awarded  

The program, which is delivered through the generouls support of the Ontario Centres of Excellence and in partnership with Carleton University, Algonquin College and La Cite through a unique experiential learning program: Ottawa Young Entrepreneurs.

For the summer of 2012 Startup Garage will be awarding a total of $160,000 in cash to be divided over eight successful applicant ventures.  As a result of the rapid increase in the number of companies we are pleased to support, the "Garage" will be moving from its current home at uOttawa to the new OCRI space located at 80 Aberdeen Street in Ottawa's Little Italy.
